Shoo app and the shoo.pro website
Effective date: 30 September 2026

In short: Shoo collects no personal data and never uploads your photos or videos anywhere. The app has no servers, accounts, analytics, ads or tracking.

Who we are

Shoo is developed and published by Onesse Studio · KOBA KORP LLC ("we"). KOBA KORP LLC is the data controller for the app and the website.

  • Address: Rivne, Ukraine
  • Email: hello@shoo.pro
  • Website: https://shoo.pro

What data we collect

The app collects none. It sends nothing to us or to any third party: no photos, videos, metadata, device identifiers or usage statistics. We run no server for the app. The only personal data we may hold is what you choose to send us by email (see "The shoo.pro website and email" below).

What the app does on your device

All processing happens locally on your device. The app uses photo library access only to:

  • show your photos and videos one at a time, with zoom and video playback;
  • filter and order them by album, date, type or length;
  • mark items as favorites (on Android 11 and later), create albums and add items to them. On Android, albums are folders, so adding an item to an album moves it into that folder;
  • delete the items you choose, and only when you ask. Deletions wait in a queue and happen only after you confirm them: on iOS in the system's own dialog, on Android in the app, and on Android 11 and later in a system dialog as well. On iOS, deleted items move to Recently Deleted, where iOS usually keeps them for 30 days. On Android they are deleted permanently.

The app also reads file sizes to show how much space you have freed.

If you use iCloud Photos, changes you make in Shoo (favorites, albums, deletions) sync to your other devices through iCloud, as with any change in the Photos app. Deleting Shoo removes its own data, but changes it made to your library stay there.

Permissions

  • iOS: access to Photos, either full or limited to the photos you select. It is used to show, sort, favorite, add to albums and, when you ask, delete. With limited access, Shoo sees only the photos you selected, and albums are not available. You can change access at any time in Settings → Apps → Shoo → Photos, or with the "Open Settings" button in the app.
  • Android: photo and video access (READ_MEDIA_IMAGES, READ_MEDIA_VIDEO, READ_MEDIA_VISUAL_USER_SELECTED, and READ/WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE on Android 12 and earlier). The app does not request microphone or audio file access. You can change access at any time in Settings → Apps → Shoo → Permissions (the exact labels vary by device).

If your library is stored in iCloud Photos, iOS may download originals from iCloud so they can be shown. iOS handles this download between your device and Apple, not us, and nothing is sent to us.

Local storage and backups

Your settings and progress are stored only on your device, in the app's local storage (AsyncStorage). This includes:

  • theme, language, swipe actions (including the album names you chose for them), the album or other source you review from, the period, filters and sort order;
  • internal IDs of the items you have reviewed or queued for deletion, and the file sizes of queued items;
  • undo history;
  • the time your previous session started (for the "New since last session" period);
  • space-freed statistics and cleanup counts;
  • whether the rating prompt was already shown for this version.

The app does not upload or copy your photos anywhere. To show them quickly, it may keep temporary, reduced-size previews in its private cache on the device. These never leave the device, and they are deleted with the app.

The data listed above may be included in your device backups (iCloud or Google), which Apple or Google manage under their own terms.

Third-party services

The app contains no third-party SDKs for analytics, advertising, tracking or crash reporting, and the app shares no data with anyone. A few other services are involved:

  • Apple and Google as platform providers. The App Store and Google Play process download, purchase and review data under their own privacy policies. Apple and Google may give us crash reports and aggregated, anonymous usage statistics (such as installs and sessions) from users who chose to share analytics with app developers (on iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements). If you join a TestFlight beta, Apple shares crash reports and any feedback you send under TestFlight's terms. The rating prompt is shown by the App Store or Google Play, not by us.
  • Links. If you tap a link in the app, such as the website, email, or the app's App Store or Google Play page, it opens in your browser, mail app or app store, and their own terms apply there. The shoo.pro website is covered by this policy.

The shoo.pro website and email

The website itself sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking scripts. It loads all of its styles, scripts and images from shoo.pro, not from third-party servers. It remembers your language choice in your browser's local storage. That stays in your browser and is not sent to us.

The website is hosted by Cloudflare, which may process technical request logs, such as IP addresses, for security and delivery. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie if it detects suspicious traffic. Cloudflare may also give us aggregated traffic statistics, such as the number of requests.

If you email us, we receive your email address and your message. We use them to reply to you. Retention period for correspondence: 2 years after our last message. Our email is handled by Cloudflare (Email Routing), which processes messages on our behalf.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in keeping the website secure and available (request logs), and in answering your messages (email). These providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States, under their own safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses. Cloudflare keeps logs according to its privacy policy: https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/.

Data retention and deletion

The app's data stays on your device until you remove it:

  • to delete all of it, including the preview cache, delete the app;
  • to start reviewing from the beginning, use "Reset reviewed" in Settings. This clears the list of reviewed items and the undo history. Items waiting for deletion stay in the queue.

Copies may remain in older device backups until you delete those backups. For website logs and email, see "The shoo.pro website and email" above.

Children

Shoo does not collect personal data from anyone, including children.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, laws such as the GDPR, the UK GDPR, the CCPA or the Law of Ukraine "On Personal Data Protection" may give you rights to access, correct, delete or port your data, to object to its processing, and to complain to a data protection authority. We do not sell personal data or share it for advertising.

Apart from the request logs Cloudflare keeps (see above), the only personal data we may hold is correspondence you send us: your email address and message. You can ask us at hello@shoo.pro to access or delete it. The app's own data is on your device and under your control. For any questions, email hello@shoo.pro.

Security

The app itself does not send your data over the network. Data on your device is protected by the operating system's app sandbox, device encryption and permissions. To protect it further, use a device passcode.

Changes to this policy

We will post any changes on this page, shoo.pro/privacy, with a new effective date. For significant changes, we will also mention them on the website or in the release notes of an app update. This version is effective from 30 September 2026.
